Widhayati Darmawan, Senior Vice President of Electronic Banking in PT Bank Mandiri, agrees Wicahyo. He explained that the costs are lower because fewer personnel are needed to provide the power.

However, the lender must do more to convince skeptical customers to make online banking.

"During more than 60 percent of total transactions processed electronically, only 10 percent have online banking," said Widhayati.

The best way is to attract customers, offering lower rates for online transactions. Bank Danamon even offers a free surgery for smart clients in high technology.
