SAVE THE MINISTRY OF SOUND - LONDON

The future of the Ministry of Sound club has been put in doubt following a planning application by property developer Oakmayne. The company has submitted plans for a residential building on the site of the old Eileen House, which, if built, would sit opposite the Ministry of Sound building and could pose a significant threat to the club's entertainment license. Oakmayne's attitude towards preserving the longevity of the club is perhaps best summed up by a comment from its chairman, Christopher Allen, who when questioned gave his opinion that "nightclubs come and go".

We, the undersigned, disagree with you Christopher. And we refuse to just sit idly by and let this happen. Ministry of Sound is not just a nightclub. Millions of people have passed through our doors over the 18 years we have been open. 300,000 people a year visit us annually, bringing trade to Elephant & Castle and the surrounding area. In the past we have, and will always strive to, create the moments people live for, and that people never forget. We are the people that come here, the people that work here, the music that is played here and the lifelong bonds that are made here. If we lose Ministry of Sound, we are losing a vital piece of youth culture in this country. Nightclubs may have existed before Ministry of Sound, but they were never the same afterwards.

Hey Everyone, After inking the deal to launch my new brand of headphones, 'Revolver', I'm really looking forward kicking off my tour in the spring where I'll debut my new production, 'Pop Killer', named in support of my forthcoming artist album. We've been working on the concept since late summer and we can't wait to unveil this state of the art 3-Dimensional rigging that brings the beats to life by way of rotating and contorting the model headphones, so large in scale you would think they're designed for the Gods. The headphones come equipped with a 'brain' that interprets the musical tone and creates movements based on the different frequencies. This will be the first of it's kind in the DJ world and Im looking forward to sharing it with you. Check out the rendering for a sneak peak.

Superstar DJ Paul Oakenfold unveils Global Summer 2009 festival and club dates.

++ Confirmed to support Madonna World Tour, in the studio producing bonus tracks for her forthcoming greatest hits record ++

One of the pioneers of the dance music revolution, Paul Oakenfold is set to embark on a lengthy world tour this summer that will cross 25 countries in just over two months. In addition to supporting Madonna around the world, Paul has been in the studio producing the bonus tracks for her forthcoming greatest hits album. "Cutting edge sounds combined with classic Madonna" says Oakenfold of the direction they're going in. Prior to his world tour this summer, Paul will make a select number of US appearances including May 30 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and his inaugural appearance at The Bonnaroo Music Festival which promises to be an all night party.

Oakenfold kicks off his summer tour in the UK with a double shot in London on July 4th playing at The Wireless Festival in Hyde Park then heading across town to the O2 arena to support Madonna on the opening night of the second leg of the Sticky & Sweet tour. After a slew of UK gigs, the Sticky & Sweet tour makes stops in Italy, France, Spain, and Germany, before heading to Russia and across Eastern Europe. Paul will be hosting a handful of after parties and late night shows along the way at some of the worlds most renowned clubs.

In addition to his very busy schedule on the road, Paul has been maintaining a high profile as the premiere Las Vegas resident DJ at the Palms Casino Resort. The hugely successful stint dubbed "Planet Perfecto" features specially branded production, costumes, and talent and has been voted one of the best clubs in the country. To celebrate the success of the residency, an exclusive Perfecto Vegas Mixtape was released via Itunes on May 6.

Touted as being one of the most versatile artists in the business, Paul has built up an impressive resume composing music for film, TV, and video games. Recently, Paul has scored three films, composed the theme to the hit TV show Big Brother, and contributed tracks to the upcoming feature film .

Paul continues to work on his new album Pop Killer which will be released in 2010. The new album already features collaborations from RHCP, Ryan Tedder, and Ce-Lo. His previous two solo releases have sold over 2 million in the US alone and he has worked with everyone from Justin Timberlake to U2. In 2007, Oakenfold released his Greatest Hits & Remixes that included radio smashes Starry Eyed Surprise and Ready Steady Go.

Opening Night - Perfecto Las Vegas!

Rain has recently been refurbished, turning it into a state-of-the-art club with a pounding sound system, hi-tec DJ console, and lighting rig and incredible video screens.
Throw into the mix performance artists, dancers clad in sci-fi costumes, space-age visuals, a crowd of more than 4000 up-for-it revelers coming from across the States and across the pond, and you had all the ingredients for a perfect(o) party! The crowd went crazy as acrobats tumbled from the ceiling and massive flames shot out from the lighting rig.
The visuals launched the audience on a journey to Planet Perfecto, and a night of non-stop party action and uplifting music.

Hi everybody, I've been working on updating my website for a while now and I'm really excited to show you the new product that we have just launched! I wanted my website to do two things – showcase my work as a DJ, producer and film score composer, but also give you, my fans, a "home" on the internet where you can discuss and discover new music, make new friends, hear about all sorts of cool stuff, find out what I've been up to and have got in the pipeline, and of course let me know what you think about it all. I'm going to be posting a lot of new music including rare sets from some of my old residencies, there will be videos, regular remix competitions, I'll be giving you my top picks of today's up and coming producers, DJs, video artists, and I might even throw in the odd restaurant and movie review!
